S. CHAND Group has built its equity over the years. This recognition has definitely not come overnight and is the result of years of devotion and dedication of visionaries. Prominent amongst them being Late Mr. Shyam Lal Gupta, the founder who had set up this dynamic enterprise from scratch way back in 1937. In 1964, he set up the Shyam Lal College in New Delhi , India.

He was the visionary behind setting up federations and associations for the Indian publishing industry. Shyam Lal Gupta’s years of dedication and efforts were recognised by the government of India when he was awarded the coveted Padmshree in 1969 – the civilian award for excellence and distinguished service to the country and was a member of Indian Parliament.

Late Rajendra Kumar Gupta

To take the legacy forward, Late Mr. Rajendra Kumar Gupta, with his marketing and project management background capably handled a wide range of projects and tasks. He was a good team player and an able leader.

He was the vice-chairman of Capexil Books Panel and former member of the National Book Development Council, Government of India, New Delhi. He also held similar posts in many other apex organizations.
 

Mr. Ravindra Kumar Gupta

Mr. Ravindra Kumar Gupta, continued the legacy of his father and enabled the group to scale new heights in the field of Publishing & Education.

As a creative powerhouse, he had been involved in a host of activities as a producer, publisher and creator. He brought substantial hands-on experience of printing integrated with his passion for excellence to move S. CHAND to a new level of excellence.

The project of bringing out Multicolour editions of school and university textbooks for the first time in the Indian market was launched by him which had brought a highly-welcome change at national level.

Mrs. Nirmala Gupta

Mrs. Nirmala Gupta, Chairperson and Managing Director of S. Chand Group and a member of Shyam Lal Charitable Trust, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Governing Body of Shyam Lal College, New Delhi. Mrs. Nirmala Gupta  is a graduate of Allahabad University with post-graduation in Hindi in 1961. Mrs. Nirmala Gupta has been instrumental in managing Shyam Lal Nursing Home, a trustee of Shyam Lal Charitable Trust and hotels of S. Chand Group. She is also founder trustee of Sree Guru Swami Chinmayananda Sewa Nidhi,New Delhi .

Widely traveled all over the world, Mrs. Gupta has participated in International Book Fairs in Frankfurt, Cairo, UK, USA, and has visited many other countries. She has also authored several primary level books which are bestsellers.

Mr. Himanshu Gupta

Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Jt. Managing Director of S.Chand Group , represents the third generation and spearheaded the Company into Digital Publishing and Multimedia.  He understands the changing and evolving dynamics and has been instrumental in leading the group's e-class and Riverdeep initiatives and transformation to a 'Total Education Corporation'.

Under his stewardship, the Company has been involved in multi-faceted activities in the educational arena such as e-learing projects and curriculum based multimedia educational CDs in various subjects.

Mr.Amit Gupta

Mr. Amit Gupta, CEO & Executive Director, S. Chand Group of Companies , is B.Tech in  Mechanical Engineering with Diploma in Operations and Manufacturing Management.

A  top management team member with 25+ year of enriching experience in top Indian & Multinational Companies  in the capacity of Business Head, Business Development Head, Profit Center and Operations Head. Also, he has headed IT Education Business in Egypt for 5 Years.

Mr. Amit Gupta is presently engaged in transforming the group into a ' Knowledge Corporation' with strategic planning, integration of technology and bringing alliances at national and international level. S. Chand Group is now grearing up to meet the requirements of 21st century knowledge economy.
